My wife, Connie, (a quilter taught by her grandmother) has quilted our whole married life of over 40 years. We have been to many quilt shops over the years and I originally began by cutting material for her once rotary cutters came into existence. Plus, we have been fortunate enough to inherit quilts from both sides of our families.
As I was retiring from being a U.S. History and Government teacher for 35 years in Indiana and Florida, I became a Civil War re-enactor. I realized that I needed something to keep me warm at night while camping. So I started making quilts and also began selling quilts to other re-enactors.
I have attended the AQS training classes to become a Professional Quilt Appraiser and have enjoyed working quilt shows in Florida, Indiana, and North Carolina.
After I retired we sold our house and now live in our RV and travel all over the US visiting quilt shops and shows.
